Report: Trevor Knight named starting QB for Texas A&M

The transfers of Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray put the Texas A&M QB job up for grabs. Over at Oklahoma, Trevor Knight was beaten out by Baker Mayfield. After once being thought of as a savior for Oklahoma football, Knight will now try to bring Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M’s stock back up to where it was headed a few years ago.

As a member of the Sooners, Knight completed 57% of his passes with 25 TD against 19 interceptions. Trevor Knight and the Texas A&M Aggies will be one of the most interesting stories to watch this fall.

Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin has typically held off on naming a starting quarterback until at least when camp starts in August. This year isn’t typical.
Sumlin on Monday named senior Trevor Knight his starter over junior Jake Hubenak. Knight is a former starter at Oklahoma and is eligible to play immediately following his transfer in January, since he already has graduated from OU.
