This is without a doubt the most head-scratching call of the season. Faced with a 4th and 19 from his own 5-yard line, BYU head coach Kalani Sitake opted to run a fake punt. Boise State snuffed it out, and stopped the Cougars for a three-yard loss.
Fortunately for BYU, this ill-fated decision didn’t end in disaster. The Broncos committed a personal foul on the play, and took over at the 17-yard line rather than the 2-yard line. Boise State would miss a field goal four plays later.
