Kolb leads Arizona to victory in relief duty

There's good news and bad news for Arizona Cardinals fans. On the bright side, the Cardinals got the win in their season opener against the Seahawks. On the down side, the Cardinals' quarterback situation is still up in the air.

After John Skelton was put out the game with an injury, Kevin Kolb entered the game without any first team work this week. It didn't matter. Kolb completed pass after pass to his receivers in a game winning touchdown drive, finishing 6 of 8 passing, 66 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals defense stepped up late in the game, holding the Seahawks out of the endzone on a 4th and goal inside of 30 seconds left in the game, but their performance was overshadowed by Kolb's brief time in the spotlight.

The win is big for the Cardinals, but suddenly, it's unclear if John Skelton is their starting quarterback moving forward. He looked solid in the first half, but his performance tailed off in the second half until he was forced out of the game by injury.

Ken Whisenhunt has a big decision in front of him. Don't be surprised if he gives next week's start to Kevin Kolb while saying the team is simply airing on the side of caution by not starting John Skelton.
