The Jimmy Haslam era has officially begun. With it, there's a lot of conversations occurring about the future of head coach Pat Shurmur, especially with the impending hire of a general manager to lead the team.
Despite the probable demolition and subsequent rebuild that is likely to occur in the near future, the team, or more specifically Haslam, was able to attract a pair of big names to the Browns' first practice under the new owner.
According to many media reports, vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan and former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice were in attendance of the Browns practice.
There's no word on exactly why Ryan and Condi were in attendance, but it may have been a political move by Ryan to attract Browns fans to support the Romney, Ryan ticket. Whether it was a good move on the campaign front or not has yet to be seen.
There's been no word if Ryan gave the Browns a pep talk as he did with the Miami of Ohio, but I think the Browns may be beyond even that.
