Top 10 players in the NFC East

This weekly series presents the 10 best players in each division. Now that we’ve completed the AFC (recap of those linked at the bottom), it’s time for the NFC starting with the east.

1. Odell Beckham, Jr., WR, New York Giants

Common perception is he wasn’t as strong in 2015 as he was as a rookie. The reality, though, is that while he played more games he also had more catches, yards and touchdowns. Beckham has taken the league by storm and is already a superstar. The scary thing is he’ll get better in his 3rd year, when most receivers really hit their stride.

2. Tyron Smith, T, Dallas Cowboys

Likely the best tackle in the league.

3. Trent Williams, T, Washington Redskins

He’s been to four straight Pro Bowls and the Redskins have to feel good about him protecting Kirk Cousins’s blindside.

4. Dez Bryant, WR, Dallas Cowboys

The combination of injuries and missing Tony Romo really affected his 2015 but if he can bounce back healthy he’s one of the best receivers in the league.

5. Fletcher Cox, DT, Philadelphia Eagles

If you saw what the Eagles were willing to invest in him, you know how valuable he is to them. He may be overpaid, but he’s still a special player.

6. Eli Manning, QB, New York Giants

Like a fine wine getting better with age. We already know how good he is in the clutch in the playoffs but at 35 he just put up career highs in rating and touchdown passes.

7. Zack Martin, G, Dallas Cowboys

He was a beast as a rookie and somehow got even better in 2015. Quickly becoming one of the best guards in football.

8. Travis Frederick, C, Dallas Cowboys

Dallas’ offensive line is scary good and it should be no surprise they have three guys on this top 10 list. Still, keeping Romo healthy is of primordial importance otherwise the talk is just that.

9. Tony Romo, QB, Dallas Cowboys

With Romo it’s all about health. If he’s playing at peak performance, he deserves to be way higher on this list. If he gets injured again, then he doesn’t belong on it at all.

10. Weston Richburg, C, New York Giants

Quietly one of the best young players in the league. He might be under the radar but he’s as good as it gets.
