Top 5 NFL Players from Week 6

This weekly segment will highlight the best performances of the week in the NFL. Every position and player is eligible, all it requires is a truly epic showing. It’s not always stat driven, or analytics grade driven, though those things help you get on this list.

1. Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans Saints

The Saints might be 2-3 but that’s not because of their elite superstar QB. Make no mistake about it, Brees may be 37 but the narrative about his “decline” is grossly exaggerated. Brees torched the banged up and inexperienced Carolina secondary at will throwing for 465 yards and 4 touchdowns, going 34 of 49. Brees is second to Tom Brady in passing yards per game and has a QB rating of 103.1 for the season

2. Odell Beckham, Jr. , WR, New York Giants

He got off to a rough start this season but he’s now back to dominating and making big plays. The Giants needed all of his 8 catches for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns in their tight win over the Ravens.

3. Jay Ajayi, RB, Miami Dolphins

Out of nowhere Ajayi went off against Steelers to help pace the Dolphins to a shocking upset victory. He finished with 204 yards on 25 carries and 2 touchdowns, with a good chunk coming on an impressive 62 yard touchdown run.

4. LeSean McCoy, RB, Buffalo Bills

Every week it seems McCoy is putting up crazy stat lines. It makes you wonder why the Eagles ever got rid of him. He had 140 yards on just 19 carries and 3 touchdowns in a blowout win over the 49ers. He’s averaging a whooping 5.6 yards per carry so far this season which would be a career best.

5. Tom Brady, QB, New England Patriots

He’s started two games so far this season and he’s been on this list twice. Talk about making up for lost time. Another flawless performance as he went 29 of 35 for 376 yards and 3 touchdowns with no turnovers. His QB rating through two games is an obscene 135.5.
