I’m all for doing things to raise money for charity but I have my limits and that limit stopped before asking a professional wrestler to slam me on thumbtacks.

But one wrestling fan wanted to be slammed on thumbtacks and got former WWE superstar Cody Rhodes to help him with his request. Rhodes used the opportunity to raise money and the fans chose to donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Most people would probably pay for a photo or an autograph for charity but to pull a Mankind and be dropped onto thumbtacks is something.

Despite the rather unusual request, Rhodes did the one thing any sane person would ask about something like this. Rhodes had the fan verbally say that he wouldn’t file a lawsuit on Rhodes or the WrestlePro organization. And then after determining where to donate the money raised from the New Jersey crowd, Rhodes said he would match what was raised.

Rhodes tweeted that the event raised almost a thousand bucks for St. Jude.

It’s unknown what motivation this fan had for doing something like this but it resulted in a lot of money going to a worthy cause and he now has a story to tell for the rest of his life. Though if it was me, I think I would rather write a check to St. Jude.
