WWE made a stop in Chicago Monday night for the latest episode of Raw, and the staff of writers must have been preparing for this one knowing fans in the stands were going to show their support for disgruntled former WWE superstar CM Punk.

As WWE executive Stephanie McMahon addressed the crowd and began to be drowned out by CM Punk supporters, McMahon looked at her wrist and unleashed a line she had to have stowed away just for the perfect moment.

Making light of Punk’s disappointing UFC debut, McMahon unleashed the best zinger she possibly could.

McMahon was taking a jab at Punk’s UFC debut, where he lasted 2:14 before tapping out against Mickey Gall at UFC 203. The debut was the focus of a UFC documentary leading up to Punk’s debut, as he was one of the most anticipated arrivals in the MMA world since his departure from the professional wrestling ring.

The divorce between CM Punk and WWE has been anything but cordial, with Punk never wasting an opportunity to vent about his experiences in WWE leading up to and after his departure from the organization. And it appears the feeling is mutual, as McMahon was prepared to respond to the Punk supporters in his hometown.

Punk is a unique individual, few would argue, but WWE always seems to have a door open for the eventual return of fan favorites down the line. Perhaps one day Punk will make an appearance at a WWE event. When he does, the crowd will go nuts, whether they liked him or not. But, for now, the two are at odds both in real life and in the fantasy world that is professional wrestling.
