Matt Harvey was set to be the New York Mets’ Opening Day starter until news of a mysterious ailment broke Monday afternoon. Manager Terry Collins was light on the details, and ruled out the rest of spring training for the team’s ace.

With little real information to go on, speculation was obviously rampant. Rumors about a serious injury flooded Twitter and gave the already tortured Mets fanbase a new potential disaster to fret over.

However, reports on Tuesday morning provided some much-needed clarity to the situation, and things went from serious to odd to funny pretty quickly.

Oh man, that sounds pretty serious. Let’s see what else comes out, but that is definitely not something to take lightly.

Well, that is a relief. No word on opening day yet, but Mets fans can breathe easier now.

Phew! So it sounds like Harvey is completely fine, and all that worry was over nothing. Still, no word on what caused it.

There it is. Matt Harvey almost missed his regular season debut because he does not pee frequently enough. Let’s see if Harvey has any comment.

Huh. Well there you have it, folks. Discolored urine is bad, according to Matt Harvey. Now that we know the full story and it is not serious at all, let us laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation courtesy of Twitter.

Harvey may have dodged a serious medical concern, but he will have no such luck avoiding an endless stream of pee-related jokes for the next few months.

Harvey and the Mets will kick off their season at Kauffman Stadium against the Kansas City Royals in a World Series rematch on Sunday, April 3 at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
