Will Caitlin Clark step into a wrestling ring?
Earlier this week, WWE announced that a host of major events, including WrestleMania, will come to the city of Indianapolis. The city and the preeminent pro wrestling company agreed on a multi-year deal to hold the company’s biggest Premium Live Events in the city. Lucas Oil Stadium is expected to hold many of them, including the 2025 Royal Rumble in February.
So could we see Clark there? While we don’t have a concrete answer, one of WWE’s brightest stars decided to invite her to the event next year. Bianca Belair, one of WWE’s brightest and most accomplished stars of this era, decided to extend an open invitation to the scintillating basketball star.
Belair addressed a host of reporters at a press conference this week and later spoke to ComicBook.com about the possibility.
“It would be really cool for the two worlds to combine and have an even bigger impact for women. Caitlin Clark, if you’re watching, come on. Join, come to the Royal Rumble,” Belair said via ComicBook.com.
Belair praised Clark and the rest of the WNBA, and the wrestling star said she “loved” what the league was doing. It’s clear the WNBA is getting attention from all corners. So, would we see Clark in the ring? Well, we obviously haven’t heard a response yet from Clark. And, knowing how the business works, don’t expect that to be anything but a tightly kept secret.
Caitlin Clark’s done many amazing things, and stepping into a wrestling ring in the Royal Rumble would undoubtedly be one of them.
