Ahead of Tuesday’s MLB trade deadline, the Atlanta Braves made a splash. Atlanta re-acquired a beloved former World Series hero who previously played with the team.
Jorge Soler is going back to Atlanta. The Braves acquired Soler in a trade with the San Francisco Giants after a brief stint with the team.
ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan reported the news of the trade. Atlanta also re-acquired Luke Jackson, who pitched for the team previously.

Theyre getting the band back together: Luke Jackson is headed to Atlanta along with Jorge Soler, as @ByRobertMurray first reported. Braves are still in sole possession of the first wild card spot in the NL and add a big bat and big relief arm for the stretch.

Soler blasted a late, go-ahead, and most importantly memorable home run in 2021 that led the Braves to a World Series victory. The Braves defeated the Houston Astros to win the team’s first championship since 1995.
He’ll now return to a Braves team that appears poised to make the MLB Postseason. Lightning often doesn’t strike twice, but Atlanta fans are sure hoping it will. They’ve got quite an add in terms of power at the plate, so let’s see if he makes an impact again.
