The NBA’s upcoming media rights deal continues to be a huge story in the sports media world. On Friday, another detail emerged that puts the future of the NBA on TNT in serious doubt.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav has been at the heart of all the criticism for the enterprise. WB has lost a lot of luster over the past few years, and potentially losing the NBA could be devastating for TNT.

But it appears Zaslav is “content” with potentially losing the network’s crown jewel. Awful Announcing wrote that amid doubt over the situation, the CEO of WBD is at least attempting to be cool.

It’s a difficult situation to reason with right now, but the reality that WBD could lose the NBA keeps gaining more and more traction. The NBA appears likely to reshuffle their deck and potentially broadcast its games on ESPN/ABC, NBC, and Amazon. TNT may reportedly try to either litigate this issue, or try to compete with Amazon instead of NBC. But it still doesn’t sound like there’s much hope in any department.

This situation has gotten under many basketball fans’ skin. That was only clearer after these quotes emerged Friday. The sports world had much to say on David Zaslav and the NBA.
