Normally, the words “Duke Blue Devils” and “upset win” don’t fit like a glove during March Madness. However, that wasn’t the case on Sunday, as the Duke women’s basketball team scored a massive upset win in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.

Duke knocked off highly-touted Ohio State to shake things up in the NCAA Tournament. The seven-seeded Blue Devils defeated second-team All-American Jacy Sheldon and the second-seeded Buckeyes in Columbus to move on to the Sweet Sixteen. Ohio State had a brilliant season this year in the Big Ten, but they saw it all come to a close Sunday afternoon.

The Blue Devils celebrated their win with a post on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

“THAT SWEET 16 FEELING!!” the Blue Devils Athletics account posted. Their post featured a video of head coach Kara Lawson walking into an exuberant and ecstatic locker room. The Blue Devils celebrated their win over Ohio State by letting their water bottles fly and shoot out in jubilation.

Duke’s women’s basketball account also got in on the fun.

“DEVILS STILL DANCING,” they exclaimed in celebration. A shocked Brutus the Buckeye could only look on in despair as they appeared in Duke’s celebratory graphic.

The win keeps the Dukies dancing, and it could be a big day for the Blue Devils. The men’s team plays in Brooklyn against 12-seeded James Madison with a trip to the Sweet Sixteen on the line there, as well. We’ll see if they can double up.

For now, everyone wanted to celebrate Duke’s upset win over Ohio State.
