Dwayne Wade

NBA great Dwyane Wade made headlines on Wednesday. Wade will take an interesting shift towards potentially becoming a sports broadcaster.

Wade will join NBC and their coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics. Wade, a Basketball Hall of Famer, will get in the booth and call the action for men’s basketball.

Wade will join LaChina Robinson and Noah Eagle on the call for coverage of the action.

Wade has embarked on media ventures before. He’s appeared on Inside the NBA on TNT before for several years and held up well there. He exited the network after 2022 and hasn’t participated in any media ventures since.

With the NBA media rights deal near the finish line, many suspect that NBC will regain the NBA rights. The NBA on NBC became ingrained in the league’s culture, and the nostalgia factor in years since has been prominent. A return would likely jolt a lot of excitement from a lot of people.

Wade going to the broadcast booth for the Olympics could be a test run for the NBA great. He could end up joining NBC’s coverage if the network acquires the rights. They wouldn’t begin until 2025, but it is an interesting prospect.

The sports world had much to say over this news on Dwyane Wade.
