The New York Knicks are one win away from the Eastern Conference Finals. New York hasn’t made a trip to the Conference Finals since the 1999-00 season, so in other words, it’s been a pretty long time. in the aftermath of the Knicks’ Game 5 win over the Indiana Pacers, one New York radio host says Knicks fans need to do one thing:

Apologize to Tom Thibodeau.

Thibodeau came to New York after coaching the Chicago Bulls and the Minnesota Timberwolves. While his teams made the playoffs and were contenders at times, Thibodeau built a reputation up for running players into the ground, and not being able to get through the glass ceiling, among other things. Thibodeau’s Knicks obviously haven’t shown this kind of promise, nor has the franchise though, which is why WFAN’s Evan Roberts most likely sent his message to Knick fans on the radio.

“Talking to certain Knick fans who decide any time something bad happens, the guy to blame is Tom Thibodeau. So, for all of you? Hail to your Prince,” Roberts said. “He can’t be the King, the King is Jalen Brunson.”

More from Roberts:

“The Prince of New York City, Tom Thibodeau, who has been dragged through the mud. He plays his guys too many minutes! He gets all his players hurt! Blah, blah, blah! So let’s start with this head coach who deserves the credit for the adjustments, and that’s just one example, that led to this series changing.”

Roberts then said that the floor belongs to everyone who had disparaging things to say about the Knicks coach. While the series isn’t over, it sure seems like it, so expect more victory laps in the future.
