Emotions poured over and spilled out of control out by the Bay on Wednesday. A wild bench-clearing brawl became the story of the day in Major League Baseball.
The San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies played in their getaway day game on Wednesday afternoon at Oracle Park. These two teams probably want to get away now after a brawl between the two clubs ensued.
It all started when Giants pitcher Kyle Harrison appeared to target Phillies star Bryce Harper. Harrison threw near Harper’s head on consecutive pitches. Harper didn’t take kindly to that, as you might imagine, and intensity shot up.

Before the scuffle even really began, the benches emptied out and the bullpens raced down to the field. Harper didn’t look amused one bit as the the two sides then began engaging with each other. The incident went WITHOUT incident though as it appears no punches were thrown.
So, in other words, everyone got a bit uproarious over nothing. In baseball… that tends to happen. Everyone is bristled from time to time. Still, when things like this happen, they’re bound to get everyone’s attention. And it did.
Many around the MLB world had much to say over this incident.
