Former NFL star Jacoby Jones, who returned a kick for a touchdown in a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens, passed away Sunday at age 40.

Jones’ tragic and abrupt passing made headlines on Sunday morning.

The Ravens noted they were “completely heartbroken” in announcing the news of Jones’ death.

Jones had a memorable 2012 postseason with the Ravens. He helped create the Mile High Miracle, catching a late touchdown against the vaunted Denver Broncos. Jones then returned a kickoff for a touchdown in Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers.

An outpour of sadness and sympathy followed the news of his passing. Several former players and teammates were in mourning.
