Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love will not see the field again until he has a new contract. General manager Brian Gutekunst said as much on Monday as training camp opened for the Packers and much of the rest of the NFL.
Team beat writer Matt Schneidman quoted Gutekunst’s comments on his team’s quarterback.
“Jordan Love will not practice until he has a new deal, Brian Gutekunst says. Love’s camp informed Packers of that decision Saturday,” Schneidman wrote.

Gutekunst says a deal could get done in the coming days, but you never know. Says big deals take time.

SChneidman added that Geutkunst said a new deal could be reached soon, but until then, no one will see Love on the field.
Perhaps rightly so of course. In his first year as a starter, he likely proved his worth and then some to teh team. He helped lead the Packers to the NFL Playoffs and picked off Dallas in a startling upset. Green Bay eventually lost to NFC Champion San Francisco in the Divisional Round.
Last season, Love threw for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdown and completed 64.2 percent of his passes.
