It’s June, so that must mean Kyle Schwarber is hitting home runs. And sure enough, on Tuesday night, that’s exactly what the Phillies slugger did.

Schwarber, making good on a trend in recent years of getting hot in June, slugged a towering home run against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night. Formerly a Red Sock, Schwarber showed no leniency in swinging the bat.

“No jet lag here,” the Phillies gleefully posted with the highlight of Schwarber’s titanic slam.

Entering Tuesday, Schwarber had hit 55 career home runs in the month of June. That total ranks the highest out of every month Schwarber’s played in during his big league career. Only his 53 career home runs in August comes anywhere close, and after Tuesday, that gap swelled to three home runs of course.

Schwarber and his slugging ways will surely aid the Phillies right now. Philadelphia sits in first place in the National League East Division as of Tuesday. Schwarber’s only hit 12 thus far this season, which is still a strong pace, but perhaps June will see him catch fire again. He sure did on Tuesday.

Everyone in the MLB world, especially Phillies fans, loved what they saw from Schwarber. His moonshot home run had everybody buzzing.
