Sports world reacts to Pat McAfee, College GameDay news

Pat McAfee will return to College GameDay in 2024. After a spring and half a summer of mystery, McAfee revealed his status for the popular ESPN show on Wednesday.

After two successful seasons, McAfee will be back for a third this year as the college football season is steadfast approaching.

McAfee’s personality and bravado make him a fit for the show, even if it hasn’t been all rosy. Criticism ramped up last season, but it seems we’re going to give this a third run now. McAfee has always been exuberant, and to be fair, that energy is probably needed for these early morning kickoff shows.

So, from that end, it makes sense. It’s not surprising either that the reaction to this news was pretty much split down the middle.
