It’s been a quiet afternoon ahead of Thursday’s NFL Draft. However, one team hopes to stir the pot and shake things up. That team is reportedly none other than the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams haven’t owned a first-round pick since all the way back in 2016. Wheeling, dealing, and then some has left the Rams without first-rounders. But, in that time span since, LA’s made the Super Bowl twice, gone 1-1 in those games, and have made the playoffs several times. So, it’s been worth it.

Now, though, the Rams appear to be rummaging around the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. And they don’t just want to be involved, no. They want a premium pick.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that the Rams are calling teams to try and vault into the Top 10 of Thursday’s first round.

To that point, Russini also added hours later that the Rams desire a prospect that isn’t a quarterback. So they aren’t shopping for Matthew Stafford’s replacement quite yet.

Plenty of mocked trades have been in mock drafts leading up to this year’s NFL Draft. We’re not sure how many involved the Rams, though. On an otherwise quiet day, this was a significant development to come across the wire.

When it comes to non-quarterbacks, Brock Bowers could be a potential target for the team.

The NFL world had their guesses and had much to say about this development Thursday afternoon ahead of the NFL Draft.
