The Baltimore Ravens have had an abysmal start to the 2025 campaign. Baltimore is 1-5 to start the year, but head coach John Harbaugh is still focused on getting his team to the playoffs.
“Our focus is going forward and what we can accomplish for the next 11 games to try to earn our way into the playoffs, which obviously, as [it was] pointed out last night, has not been done very often with the record we have,” Harbaugh said before the bye week. “But, we still believe we can do it.”
Harbaugh is hoping that the return of star quarterback Lamar Jackson will help turn things around.
“I’m leaning into [Jackson’s return] pretty hard,” Harbaugh said. “If I was on the couch with a psychiatrist right now, if I was spilling it, I would have to say I’m leaning really hard into that, really hard. For any kind of psychological well-being, spiritual well-being, I’m leaning hard on that happening. So, I’m very hopeful that that happens.”
Unfortunately for Harbaugh’s well-being, Jackson was not a participant in Baltimore’s first practice following the bye week.
“QB Lamar Jackson remains sidelined with a hamstring injury. The 2-time NFL MVP did not participate in Monday’s practice, which was the Ravens’ first one since coming off the bye. Jackson hasn’t suited up since injuring his hamstring in Kansas City on Sept. 28,” reported Jamison Hensley on Monday.
Even if Jackson isn’t able to go, the Ravens coaching staff has already made sweeping changes to the locker room.
“After the loss to Kansas City, the Ravens coaching staff removed several ‘distractions’ from the locker room including the pingpong table, cornhole boards, basketball hoop, and video game consoles,” one prominent Ravens Twitter account reported.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Don’t mean a damn thing if you aint got the right kind of troops in the trenches,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“How dare these coaches punish these players like their little kids. Who’s going to punish John Harbaugh for attempting the tush push twice and failing. No wonder this team sucks. The locker room is lost,” someone else added.
“Removing everything but the real problems which is Harbaugh and Orr,” another person added.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Ravens respond to the changes.
