Elly De La Cruz is one of Major League Baseball’s brightest stars. The Cincinnati Reds sensation proved why yet again on Wednesday.
De La Cruz has set an incredible pace at stolen bases. Before even the month of August, De LaCruz has racked up a startling amount of steals. He added to that collection in grand fashion on Wednesday afternoon.
Elly’s now recorded his 50th (and, later, his 51st stolen base) of the season!

The Reds sensation also clobbered a home run in the Reds’ 9-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves. Cruz has a 20-steal lead over second-place Brice Turang. That’s insane to think about, but it’s nonetheless true.
Everyone marveled at De La Cruz and his impressive base-stealing ways after Wednesday afternoon’s game concluded.

I don’t say this lightly, but Elly De La Cruz could play only 10 years in Cincinnati and be the best player to ever wear the uniform. He’s unreal. I hope he plays 15+ in this uniform.
