Much has been made in the last day or so over happenings that occurred during the Chicago Sky-New York Liberty game. Sky rookie star Angel Reese picked up an egregious foul call that stirred many around the league and the sports world up.

Several chimed in after the egregious call, and that wasn’t limited to fans and pundits either. Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu, one of the most revered and recognizable players in the league, also wound up taking issue with the call.

Despite the call benefiting the Liberty, Ionescu wondered how the referee could issue a technical foul to Angel Reese for cussing, let alone two technical fouls.

Eric, or @nemchoke on X, posted, “Ionescu to the ref: ‘She got two techs for just saying that’s bull—-?'”

Everyone loves chiming in after egregious foul calls, but it’s not often that you see the opposing side make their thoughts clear too. And especially when they decide not to just roll with it! The foul call obviously ‘helped’ the Liberty, but Ionescu just wasn’t in the business for herself on Tuesday night. She instead took up for Reese, who’s received a lot of hate and backlash, more often than not over things that she cannot control or isn’t all that guilty of.

The sports world had much to say over Sabrina Ionescu taking up for Angel Reese.
