Chris Harris Jr., a former undrafted player who became a Super Bowl champion, announced his retirement from football.

Harris Jr., who starred prominently with the Denver Broncos in the mid-2010s, was one of his era’s most successful undrafted players. He enjoyed a spirited career, including a victory in Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos over the Carolina Panthers.

Harris Jr. announced his retirement on Twitter.

The former cornerback made it official by reposting several tweets, including one from reporter Mike Klis.

The Broncos also announced his retirement with a special post of their own. “Strap Harris is hanging it up. From undrafted to All-Decade, congrats to #SB50 champ Chris Harris Jr. on a legendary career!” they boasted.

Harris was named a Pro Bowler four times during his illustrious career and received All-Pro honors once. He was named to the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team for his efforts during his career. That’s quite an exceptional honor, especially for a former undrafted player. Harris Jr. excelled in the slot, which significantly impacted the game of football as it evolved through the previous decade. It’s fair to say he was an extremely influential player.

Good tidings and best wishes to retirement to Chris Harris Jr. At his best, few were better than him at a position that exponentially grew in importance over the decade he played in.
