Texas Longhorns wide receiver Adonai Mitchell finished a prodigious career in college last week. Now, it appears the star wideout has his future plans sorted out. Mitchell will enter the 2024 NFL Draft, we learned on Tuesday.
Mitchell announced his intentions to declare professionally on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.
Mitchell said, “Georgia and Texas — thank y’all for everything. For Icylinn, I’m most excited about what’s next — for both of us. Today, I am declaring for the NFL Draft.”
The standout wide receiver used The Players’ Tribune to announce his declaration.

He continued: “I’m grateful to Coach Sark and all of the University of Texas community for making me feel like a Longhorn for life in such a short time. And to all the Bulldog fans, my amazing coaches, my brothers on the field, the legendary 2021 class – we did that. We made history together. I love all of y’all.
“Honestly thinking about all the places I’ve been and things I’ve gotten to do is almost overwhelming. I’m just so grateful for it all,” Mitchell explained.
At Georgia, Mitchell totaled 560 yards and seven career receiving touchdowns. Then at Texas, the wide receiver pulled in 55 career receptions, 845 yards, and eleven receiving touchdowns. He finishes his collegiate career with 93 receptions, 1,405 yards, and 18 touchdowns.
Obviously, you won’t be drafting him off of his collegiate production but his potential instead. And the 6’4, 190-pound Mitchell might have a lot of potential.
