The Detroit Tigers won a seesaw battle with the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon. Detroit’s Matt Vierling sent Tigers fans and the MLB world into a tizzy after he launched an epic three-run walk-off home run!

Vierling stepped to the plate with the game tied at 11 runs apiece. Yep, the Tigers and Jays got into a Sunday slugfest.

But it came to an end thanks to Vierling’s towering blast.

Detroit and Toronto combined for seven home runs on the afternoon at Comerica Park. Cavan Biggio, Daulton Varsho, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa went deep for the Blue Jays, while Vierling, who homered earlier in the game too, Carson Kelly, and Spencer Torkelson all went yard for the Tigers. There were a combined 25 runs scored and a combined 31 hits. So those who attended Sunday afternoon’s game were given quite a treat.

The Blue Jays have disappointed this season, and Sunday’s result doesn’t do much to wipe away that dissatisfaction. The loss sent them to 23-29, as the Blue Jays sit in last place in the competitive American League East Division. Detroit, meanwhile, improved to 26-27 with the walk-off victory. They play in a competitive AL Central but still aren’t all the way out of it yet.

The MLB world had much to say over the epic walk-off home run.
