The 2024 NCAA Softball Tournament is off to a red-hot start. On Saturday, there was no shortage of drama out in Hollywood, and the UCLA Bruins were able to emerge victorious in epic fashion.

The Bruins are hosting the Westwood Regional in the first leg of the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Their road to Oklahoma City unsurprisingly began in Los Angeles. UCLA were one of the best teams in the nation this year, and thus earned the right to host. They welcomed Virginia Tech, no slouch themselves, out to Westwood as part of the Regionals round.

VaTech took it to UCLA early on. The Hokies held a firm 4-0 advantage after two innings and soured the Bruin faithful. But, UCLA refused to quit. They eventually tied and retook the lead in the middle of the game after an incredible swing. But then VaTech reclaimed the lead late.

Trailing 6-5, the stage was set for a comeback. UCLA just had to execute. Well, execute they did.

The Bruins staged an epic seventh-inning comeback and walked off as winners!

As the gang put it themselves, Bruin Magic is real!

UCLA will look to move through to the Super Regionals after this weekend. Then they’ll only be a couple wins away from another trip to Oklahoma City, where they’ll aim to get back to the summit and be Women’s College World Series Champions.

The sports world went crazy over the epic finish in Westwood. The NCAA Softball Tournament only figures to heat up more from here.
