We’re four days removed from Bartolo Colon’s impossible home run against the Padres at Petco Park, and the event is still the talk of the baseball world. One enterprising MLB fan decided to mash up Colon’s homer, the ending of The Natural, and the TV call of the homer by Gary Cohen on SNY. It’s nothing short of amazing.

I don’t know if Colon managing to homer is more or less improbable than the story of Roy Hobbs in The Natural, but that’s another debate for another time.

On the bright side, at least Colon isn’t getting compared to *this* natural.

Bartolo Colon isnt *this* natural

But if Colon wants to make it back to back starts with home runs, he’s got his work cut out for him. On Thursday, Colon will make his first start since the dinger…against the Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw’s allowed just three home runs this season, though one was to a pitcher – Madison Bumgarner of the Giants.

It won’t get any easier for Bartolo’s long ball brigade after Kershaw. His two starts after that one are scheduled to be against the Nationals and Max Scherzer, though Scherzer did allow four home runs to the Cubs in his last start on Friday.
