Cavaliers parade crowd in Cleveland

The Cleveland Cavaliers won their first NBA Title on Sunday with hometown hero LeBron James taking home the Finals MVP award.

The Land partied all night long on Sunday and into the early hours of Monday morning. On Wednesday, the whole city erupted into celebration once again with the championship parade winding its way through downtown Cleveland.

The parade began outside the home of the Cavs, Quicken Loans Arena. It then went up East Ninth Street and finished up with a rally at Mall B, where around 50,000 fans were expected to congregate.

James and fellow star Kyrie Irving were the stars of the parade in Rolls-Royce sedans.

The best part of James’ portion of the parade was marching in front of him the entire time was the marching band from Akron’s St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, the high school James attended. You can see them in front of James here.

The parade started in a delay because there were too many fans near the starting point at Quicken Loans Arena. As a result, the vehicles carrying the Cavaliers couldn’t get to the starting point on time.

60 floats, Rolls-Royces, Cleveland Browns Hall of Famer Jim Brown, Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer, and Buckeyes basketball coach Thad Matta, the Buckeyes’ marching band, and the AHL Calder Cup Champion Lake Erie Monsters all took part in the long parade.

All along the parade route, fans did whatever they could to get a glimpse of the Cavs as they passed.

At the end of the day, just a few fans showed up to support the 2016 NBA champions.
