President Barack Obama’s last year in office means many different things to many different people. But for college basketball fans in particular, it means one final presidential bracket.

The tradition began during Obama’s first year in office back in 2009, when the President correctly picked North Carolina to win it all. Unfortunately for Obama, his picks have been all downhill from there. He’s missed out on the champion in each of his last six tries.

In the final installment Obama is once again putting his faith behind the Kansas Jayhawks, who he has beating North Carolina in the final tilt. The 44th President joked that Kansas coach Bill Self, “owes him” at this point after he picked the Jayhawks to win it all in 2010 and 2011 before ultimately coming up short both years.

In keeping with his own tradition, Obama’s picks were overwhelmingly chalk. The only major first round upset the President chose was his home state Hawaii, a 13 seed, topping California, a four seed. After the first round, he selected the highest seed in all but four match ups.

Despite a majority of “safe” picks, Obama might raise some eyebrows with his projected victor from the West bracket. He has Texas A&M topping Duke in the Elite Eight, before eventually falling to Kansas in the Final Four. A&M is a three seed, but according to 538’s bracket predictor tool, only has a 12 percent shot at making it that far. Michigan State is the President’s other team in the Final Four.

Obama also failed to pick a single 12 seed over five seed upset, something that he might want to reconsider should he read The Comeback’s breakdown of these sorts of match ups.
