John Kasich is the governor of Ohio, but he’s more likely the second or third most well known man in Ohio, behind LeBron James, and of course Urban Meyer.

He got an endorsement from one in Urban Meyer, five days before Ohio is set to hold its primary election.

Meyer told the Toledo Blade earlier this year that he wouldn’t share his thoughts on the upcoming election.

“No, my job description is very clear and that’s to coach Ohio State football and the focus is on 17 to 18 to 22-year-olds,” Meyer told the Blade. “I have strong beliefs, but I’m not going to share that with you guys. I don’t think that’s appropriate.”

Nonetheless, Meyer gave his endorsement to Kasich, saying, “Shelley and I would like to tell you and Karen that the leadership you’ve shown in the state of Ohio since we’ve been back and even before, your friendship, as a friend and as a true supporter of what you stand for, now that I really know what you stand for, we’d like to tell you we wish you guys the best,” Meyer said. “Go win this darn thing. We wish you well.”

Kasich was already expected to do well in his home state, but the endorsement from Meyer should be all he needs to come out with a victory in his home state.
