Johnny Manziel spent most of last offseason trying to get sober and save his football career. This offseason, things are much different, as Manziel hasn’t stayed sober, and he is out of an NFL job at this point.

And in an offseason full of bad headlines, this may be the least shocking of them all: Manziel is accused of causing $32,000 of damage to a home he rented in West Hollywood for two nights with a friend in early April.

In the course of those two nights, it is alleged that Manziel threw raging parties that ended with the cops being called and plenty of booze and drugs found in the trashed house. Oh, and the renters of the property found a passed out Manziel nearly three hours after checkout time with the house completely full of drugs and booze still.

The renters, LA Exotic Life, have sued the former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback for the damage caused, and laid out the details of what was found upon their arrival in the legal demand:

“They were supposed to check out at noon. Manziel was passed out . . . There was cocaine all over the kitchen table, and mushrooms were still out on the table in front of him. There was booze everywhere . . . broken glasses over the floor and a Champagne glass in a tree. If they don’t respond to our demand for compensation, we will sue.”

As for the cops being involved, none other than neighborhood resident Kathy Griffin is on record as being one to call in a complaint about the noise coming from the house amongst other complaints.

It’s safe to say the ex-football player is still down a very dark path, one that doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.

As for his NFL future? These types of headlines are sure to keep him far away from any roster for the foreseeable future.
