For sports-loving American kids of the early 90’s, there was no greater item of clothing of more importance than your Starter jacket. The hooded jacket with cozy pockets was a mainstay and which team’s jacket you chose said a lot about who you were and what you stood for. The trend also coincided with a time when wearing teal was considered cool as hell.

In theory, every jacket that Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins wears these days is a starter’s jacket. But the guy who led Washington to the NFC East title and a playoff berth took things up a notch today when he dusted off an old Starter jacket for his press rounds.

Clearly, Cousins was trying to keep things cozy today. Especially when you consider the Uggz slippers as well.

Most importantly though, Kirk Cousins definitely just wanted to remind everyone who the Starter is in Washington these days.
