Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is not expected to face discipline from the league for his role in an altercation at a Philadelphia nightclub, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.

The ruling isn’t a total surprise as McCoy wasn’t booked on charges following the February incident.
McCoy was recorded on video obtained by TMZ throwing punches inside of the Recess Lounge in Philadelphia. He reportedly got into a brawl with two off-duty police officers, leaving them with “brutal injuries.” The Philadelphia District Attorney ultimately decided there wasn’t enough evidence to charge McCoy or former Eagles running back Curtis Brinkley, who was with McCoy at the club.
Despite getting off without any charges, it was still possible McCoy could have been suspended. The NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy states you don’t need a conviction to be given discipline – so if the report is correct, the NFL could have suspended McCoy if they felt his conduct was detrimental to the league.
McCoy is lucky to walk away with no discipline given the seriousness of the altercation. It’s not every day you can get in a fight and injure two off-duty cops and walk away from it without any charges. But, as the Philadelphia D.A. said, if there wasn’t sufficient evidence to charge McCoy with a crime, then it would be unfair to suspend him. Especially when all the details aren’t known.
