There’s no such thing as a “good” own goal in hockey. However, there are varying degrees of “bad” own goals and this example from the Polish Hockey League might be one of the worst you’ll ever see.

Goalie David Zabolotny left his crease to play the puck and attempted to slide it behind his own net. His effort proved to be disastrous and as ugly as all of those ads littering the ice surface.

Zabolotny’s team JKH GKS Jastrzebie was already trailing 2-0 with about a minute to play, so it’s not like his blunder cost his team the game. That may be the only positive as this own goal might be remembered as the worst of 2015 and possibly one of the worst in recent memory.

If you’re looking for Zabolotny, check under the rocks around Poland.
