On Sunday night, YouTube personality Jake Paul stepped into the boxing ring to take on professional boxer Tommy Fury. And even though he entered the match soaring with confidence, he lost match by a decisive decision.

After the match, Jake Paul was interviewed about the defeat, and even though he said that he was “not making excuses,” that’s exactly what he did, blaming the loss on unfair judges scores, multiple illnesses in camp, and an injury.

“All respect to Tommy, he won. I think we deserve that rematch. I don’t know if I agree with the judges. I got a 10-8 round twice… I felt flat, I got sick really bad twice in this camp, injured my arm. But I lost, I’m not making excuses,” Paul said after the match, according to Benson.

Of course, saying “I’m not making excuses” immediately after making several excuses for the loss didn’t sit well with the sports world. As a result, Paul was absolutely blasted on Twitter for the wild quote.

It remains to be seen whether or not Paul and Fury will have the rematch Paul asked for. But it is clear that Fury was the better fighter in Sunday’s match.
