The feud between First Lady Jill Biden and LSU’s women’s basketball team — particularly star player Angel Reese — is not going away.

Reese spoke on the I am Athlete podcast and made it clear that Mrs. Biden suggesting that both LSU and Iowa, the team LSU defeated, should be invited to the White House.

Reese made it clear that she felt that had the Hawkeyes won, LSU would not have been invited. She also expressed frustration with the First Lady’s use of “sportsmanship” as the justification for the suggested dual invite.

“If we were to lose, we would not be getting invited to the White House,” Reese said. “I remember she made a comment about ‘both teams should be invited because it was sportsmanship.’ And I’m like, ‘Are you saying that because of what I did (putting her hand over her face)? Suff like that, it bothers me. Because, you are a woman at the end of the day. You’re supposed to be standing behind us before anything. It’s hard to see things like that and not to comment back on it.”

Biden’s comments were actually that Iowa should be invited “because they played such a good game.” If someone who didn’t know anything about the game read such comments, he or she might think that the game went into overtime or maybe was won at the buzzer. In reality, LSU handily defeated Iowa, winning 102-85.

And Reese made it clear that any apology offered by the First Lady has not been accepted. She also echoed the sentiment of her teammate, Alex Morris, who wants to visit former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.

“I’m not gonna lie to you, I don’t accept that apology. I said what I said. You can’t go back on certain things that you say. You felt like they should have came because of sportsmanship, right? They can have that spotlight. We’ll go to the Obamas. We’ll see Michelle. We’ll see Barack.”

And the bad blood between the Tigers and the Bidens didn’t start with the suggestion that Iowa be invited, nor any criticism Reese received from her “you can’t see me” gesture at Iowa star, Caitlin Clark.

It started before the game and even the tournament started, when President Biden’s bracket included a short run for Iowa.

“Apparently she was supposed to come to our locker room before the game but we said no. “She was supposed to come to our locker room and go to Iowa’s locker room. I don’t know if she talked to them. I don’t know if she said. But we said we didn’t want her coming to the locker room. I think Joe Biden had put somebody else to win the National Championship. He didn’t even put us on his bracket to get out of Baton Rouge.”
