The Auburn Tigers made the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season this year. Unfortunately, they were only able to make it to the second round, getting bounced by the Houston Cougars.
They will look to reload this offseason and hopefully make another tournament appearance next season. They made potentially a big step in the right direction on Saturday after a prominent mid-major star decided to transfer to the program.
The Florida International Golden Panthers weren’t a team to write home about this past season., finishing just 14-18 on the year. However, one lone bright spot was sophomore guard Denver Jones.
Jones impressed in a big way this past season, averaging 20.1 points per game while shooting 37.1 percent beyond the arc. After entering the transfer portal earlier this offseason, he officially revealed his commitment to Auburn on social media.

This is a huge get for Auburn and long-time head coach Bruce Pearl. While production from a smaller school doesn’t always transfer over to a big program in the SEC like Auburn, he has shown a ton of potential throughout his short college career.
Auburn is set to have their top two scorers in Johni Broome and Wendell Greene Jr. returning next season. With the addition of Denver Jones, they could be a team to watch next year in the SEC.
