Costco pick-up move

The Boston College Eagles weren’t the only winners when they defeated the Detroit Mercy Titans in men’s basketball on Saturday.

With 43.6 seconds to play in the first half of the contest, an ESPN camera caught a young man flashing his Costco membership to a seemingly impressed young woman standing next to him at the game.

“Lmao,” was the only caption the original observer could muster at the sight.

“Wow,” the woman in the video appears to say when presented with the card.

The sports world was quick to react to the viral moment:

“With inflation these days, you’ll never expect what can get you a date,” Joe Holder said.

“Are they making fake Costco IDs at Detroit Mercy?” joked Christopher Crawford.

“We have all been there,” Lindsey OK said.

“When you find out you can get a hot dog AND a pop for $1.50.”

Hard to argue with the man’s move. Young people are not known for their excessive wealth, and with inflation like it is, the potential couple’s money could stretch further at Costco rather than a traditional grocer. There are certainly worse places for a first date.

The Eagles are next in action Monday night when they host the Maine Black Bears.
