First Lady Jill Biden opened up a can of worms on Monday when she said she’d like to see Caitlin Clark and the runner-up Iowa Hawkeyes join the champion LSU Tigers for the traditional winners’ celebration at the White House.
It would be hard to find one person who agrees with that sentiment.
That includes Caitlin Clark.
During an interview on SportsCenter on Tuesday, Clark made it clear she feels like that honor is reserved for the champions.
“I don’t think runner-ups usually go to the White House,” Clark said during the interview on ESPN. “I think LSU should, you know, enjoy that moment for them. And congratulations – obviously. They deserve to go there. Maybe I can go to the White House on different terms though. But I think, you know, that’s for LSU. That’s a pretty cool moment and I think they should enjoy every single moment of being the champion. I think that’s theirs to enjoy.”
Caitlin Clark shares on OTL that she doesn't want to go to the White House despite Jill Biden's stated interest in hosting her and the Iowa team.

As with her comments defending Angel Reese, pretty much everyone around the college basketball world agreed with Clark about how that should play out.
“I like this young lady,” said Soledad O’Brien.
“One more reason why I’m such a big fan of [Caitlin Clark],” said Joe Walsh.
“Class act,” said Lisa Fung.
“Good for her. She is right,” said Mark Davis.
