As the TCU Horned Frogs enter the Big 12 Tournament this week, they are playing without center Eddie Lampkin Jr. And after a recent post on his Instagram account, we now have a pretty good idea of why exactly he’s not with the team.

Eddie Lampkin Jr. shared screenshots of multiple conversations that appear to allege mistreatment and abuse from TCU men’s basketball head coach Jamie Dixon and other members of the TCU Horned Frogs staff.

The first conversation appears to be between Lampkin’s mother, Vanessa and Dixon in which the TCU coach originally texted Vanessa Lampkin referencing a previous conversation discussing her son entering the transfer portal. Vanessa Lampkin claims that the conversation he’s referencing never happened and accused him of mistreatment and directing “racial remarks” toward her son.

“If you all don’t tell the truth of how you have mistreated disrespected and said racial remarks toward him. We will. Please do not disrespect my son’s name because all we have been is patient with YOU. Handle US with Christian Values for once. Thank you,” Vanessa Lampkin wrote.

Eddie Lampkin Jr. also shared a second text conversation between him and an unknown person who he calls “coach” where he went into detail about how the treatment from Dixon affected him and his teammates and implied that other coaches either contributed or were aware of the mistreatment.

“It’s crazy y’all let him treat us like that cmon coach be 100 with me you know my pain I told you everyday I been hurting I’m tired of seeing my teammates hurting” Lampkin said.

TCU or Dixon have not yet addressed the allegations.
