Former Kansas four-star big man Ernest Udeh Jr. was once expected to be a big part of their team for years to come, coming into the program as a top-40 recruit in the 2022 high school class. Instead, he will be playing for one of their rivals in the Big 12 after announcing his decision in the transfer portal.

Udeh appeared in 30 games for the Jayhawks last season, where he was used sparingly which may be a factor in his decision to transfer. He average 2.6 points and brought down 1.8 rebounds per game in just 8.3 minutes per game.

He took to social media to reveal his transfer decision, revealing that he will be committing to the TCU Horned Frogs for the upcoming 2023-24 college basketball season.

“Imma need to grow some horns,” Udeh captioned his tweet with a photoshopped picture while wearing a Horned Frogs jersey.

It obviously remains to be seen whether or not Udeh will get more playing time under head coach Jamie Dixon at TCU. While TCU is not the powerhouse that Kansas has been over the years, they have been a staple in the NCAA Tournament as of late, making it past the first round in back-to-back seasons.

Udeh will be joining former mid-major standout Jameer Nelson Jr. as a new transfer portal commit at TCU. Nelson Jr. is the son of former Orlando Magic star Jameer Nelson.
