The Louisville Cardinals faced off against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Tuesday in a game that had one of the more memorable halftime shows for all the wrong reasons.
Louisville has had an extremely awful season. The Cardinals came into Tuesday’s matchup with a 4-25 record on the year. This made for an incredibly fitting halftime show when a trick-performing dog decided to ruin the halftime show altogether.
The Cardinals went into the half trailing 35-27, and things certainly did not get any better with the halftime entertainment. In the middle of its performance, the dog decided to take a bathroom break on the court, much to the amusement of fans in attendance.

The college basketball world got a good laugh out of this incredibly ironic moment that helps sum up Louisville’s 2022-23 season.

The halftime entertainment at Louisville just left a surprise on the court for the players

Louisville (4-25) having a dog perform at halftime only to have the dog take a dump on their court is just fitting.
Great work by the scriptwriters.

Whenever Louisville basketball returns to glory, the 25-loss season punctuated by a halftime act literally defecating on the court absolutely must be in the lede of that comeback story. Because this is rock bottom. https://t.co/G2zx8bE2Ji

If ever a single act defined an entire season: Halftime show dog poops on floor in Louisville's final home game. https://t.co/IfW3dcyzQe

In all seriousness, whoever was handling the dog clearly did not do their due diligence before the halftime show to take the dog outside to go to the bathroom.
Things did not get any better for the Cardinals on the court when action resumed in the second half. The Hokies would go on win the game 71-54, which pushed Louisville’s record in ACC conference play to 2-16 on the year.
While the game itself may not have been all that pleasant for Louisville fans, at least they got some hilarious entertainment by this uncommon moment in the halftime show on Tuesday night.
