Miami Hurricanes win over Pittsburgh.

A ranked ACC matchup between the No. 17 ranked Miami Hurricanes and the No. 25 ranked Pittsburgh Panthers came down to the final possession. Ultimately Miami was able to come away with the win, but it wasn’t without Hurricane fans at home sweating it out until the final buzzer.

Miami had a chance to ice the game at the free-throw line with nine seconds remaining clinging to a two-point lead. However, Norchad Omier missed the front end of the one-and-one, leading to one last possession from Pittsburgh.

It was a frantic final possession that resulted in nearly a 40-foot three-point attempt to win the game. The attempt fell just short, going off the front rim and resulting in a massive victory for Miami.

This win solidified a share of the ACC regular season title along with Virginia. It is only the second time in program history that Miami has accomplished this.

While Miami and Virginia have the same ACC record, it will be Miami that will be the top seed in the upcoming ACC Tournament.

The likes of Duke and North Carolina have traditionally dominated the ACC in basketball. However, many are extremely high on this Miami Hurricanes team as it prepares for both the ACC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament.

Heading into the season Miami was ranked No. 4 in the ACC basketball preseason poll behind North Carolina, Duke, and Virginia. Now they have won eight of their last nine games and potentially have the highest potential of any team in the conference to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
