Many times, college sports can be just as riveting and exciting as their professional counterparts. That’s often true of college basketball as the annual NCAA March Madness basketball tournament is one of the most-watched and most exciting events across all sports. But every now and then while watching college sports, you’re reminded that these are just amateur athletes. That was certainly the case at one point during Tuesday night’s game between the Northwestern Wildcats and the Georgetown Hoyas.
Midway through the first half of Tuesday night’s game, Northwestern guard Julian Roper II missed a free throw attempt and then absolute chaos ensued. For the next 20 seconds, the teams combined to give one of the most chaotic and ugly attempts at playing basketball you will ever see on a court at any level.
In just a short span, the teams combined for three turnovers and a missed shot as several players on both teams mishandled the ball and threw errant passes before the ball ultimately ended out of bounds after a failed cross-court pass attempt.
The play was so ugly, you’ll just have to see it to believe it.
