Liberty Bowl Kansas versus Arkansas

The Liberty Bowl on between the Kansas Jayhawks and the Arkansas Razorbacks on Wednesday night certainly has the college football world talking, perhaps being one of the most thrilling bowl games in recent memory.

Kansas looked to be dead and buried, but they miraculously came back from a 25-point deficit to send the game to overtime after an improbable onside kick recovery.

Overtime produced even more chaotic moments for both sides, with the game ultimately heading to double overtime after both teams scored on their possessions.

Some controversy came in the second overtime after Arkansas scored a touchdown along with their two-point conversion on their possession.

Kansas had a chance to rebuttal and scored a touchdown, but initially were stopped short on their conversion attempt, only to be bailed out by a targeting call on Arkansas.

They would ultimately go on to convert on their second attempt, forcing a third overtime where both teams would enter a sudden death period of only two-point conversion attempts.

Arkansas would go on to convert on their attempt, and Kansas’s comeback bid came to a screeching halt when their attempt fell incomplete, resulting in a 55-53 win for the Razorbacks.

This chaotic game had many praising both sides at the conclusion of the matchup, with the college football world greatly appreciating this wild shootout.

“The 2022 Liberty Bowl shall live on forever. There are NEVER too many bowl games,” tweeted Ben Stevens of SportsGrid.

“Arkansas fans have lost 20 years on their lives tonight,” tweeted RedditCFB on Twitter.

This game was certainly one of the most entertaining bowl games in the sport this year, and it came down to who made big plays when it mattered most.
