On Saturday night, four-star quarterback Air Noland announced his commitment to the Ohio State Buckeyes. But before he made that commitment, he earned offers from a lot of top programs such as Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Miami, Oregon and Texas A&M and built relationships with each of their coaches. But none of them impressed him more than Ohio State head coach Ryan Day.

During an interview with Luke Sinstel of ESPN, Air Noland explained that Ryan Day was a big reason why he committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

“I got to meet a lot of great head coaches, and coach Ryan Day was the best out of all of them,” Noland told ESPN.

While Noland appreciates what Day can do for him on the field, it was what he does outside of football that impressed him the most.

“He made my mom and me feel very comfortable, sitting in his office,” Noland said. “Outside of football, he had a tragedy that happened with his dad. He was going through a lot at the time where he was dealing with mental health, you know, going through things. I have a program called Broken Crayons Still Color. He has an organization that he started building up in Columbus, and he started talking to me about mental health and players he helped get through mental health and the pressure. So outside of football, me and him had a great connection.”

Noland will hope to be the next in a long line of great quarterbacks coached by Day.
