The Arch Manning era has arrived in Austin, Texas. Manning spent his first two years in college primarily as the backup to Quinn Ewers. In the handful of starts that Manning received while Ewers was injured, the young gunslinger electrified defenses both through the air and on the ground.
Ewers has declared for this month’s draft, meaning Manning is finally in line to start. Manning being the starter also means that he’s in line for some new NIL deals, and it appears he’s already cashing in.
“Texas QB Arch Manning has inked an NIL deal with Vuori Manning holds a $6.5 million On3 NIL Valuation,” reported On3 on Tuesday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Genius. Now I feel like less of (a jerk) overpaying for workout gear,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Why would anyone need to add nil money to a player that wasn’t going to portal out?” one fan wanted to know, insinuating that Texas should instead focus its NIL on players who are a flight risk to transfer out of the program.
“I need some Texas Longhorn Vuori gear!” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Manning can accomplish what Ewers failed to do and bring a national championship trophy to Austin.
