Neither the Auburn Tigers nor Missouri Tigers had much bite on offense Saturday morning when they faced each other. And although their play was not the greatest, the ending made up for it.
Going into the fourth quarter, the teams were tied at 14. That score would remain for the entire quarter, but it nearly didn’t. With just over a minute left, Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook hit Dominic Lovett for a 39-yard gain, giving them first and goal from the Auburn three. And that’s when the weirdness really started.
Mizzou spent their first two downs moving the ball back to the eight-yard line to set up an easier field goal and burn the clock. But kicker Harrison Mevis missed from 26 yards, sending the game to overtime.
In the extra period, Auburn was unable to move the football, and quarterback Robby Ashford looked as if he had thrown an interception. Luckily for him, it was ruled incomplete. Auburn kicker Anders Carlson then missed a field goal. But he got a second chance because Mizzou went offsides, and made a 39-yarder to put Auburn into the lead, causing the celebration seen at top.
Then it was Missouri’s turn with the football. The Tigers had a chance to win it with a touchdown, but the ball was fumbled out of the endzone for a touchback. Game over, Auburn wins 17-14.

It wasn’t pretty, but the Auburn Tigers pulled it out in the end. That win sent them to 3-1 on the season. Missouri drops to 2-2.
Auburn fans are not sure how they should react to the victory.

A loss would’ve somehow felt better. Poorly coached, exhausted, hurt, and unsupported players. Feels terrible

Despite how Auburn fans may feel right now, Mizzou fans feel worse.
